Dominyka Obelenyte is a romanticist studying visual arts at Columbia University and a former Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world champion. She is a savant with markers and enjoys combining drawing, painting, and collage onto large, expressive works.
Obelenyte takes the voices of the quiet victims and silent majority and, after being combined with a surreal blend of colors and found items, celebrates them as expressions of quiet dignity and personal resistance. She elevates the ordinary and celebrates the subtle.
