OF SERENDIPITOUS COLLISIONS

5.6.25 - 26.6.25

Petit Bruit

51 Av. Gambetta 75020 Paris

The Art Vacancy is delighted to invite you to the opening of Of Serendipitous Collisions, a solo exhibition by Paris-based artist Ioana Aron, curated by Sáng Huynh.

Centering brief yet resonant human encounters, this exhibition reflects on how moments of connection—however fleeting—can leave a lasting imprint, quietly reshaping our internal landscapes. Ioana Aron’s work invites us to consider the beauty of life’s many intersections: a shared bench, a conversation at a bar, a glance exchanged in passing. Some collisions arrive suddenly, altering our path in an instant. Others unfold more slowly, becoming relationships that travel with us through multiple turns—each one opening up new directions, new possibilities, and unexpected forms of closeness.

Curated by Sáng Huynh, the exhibition opens a space for reflecting on intimacy, chance, and emotional resonance. Rather than prescribing meaning, Of Serendipitous Collisions invites viewers to linger in uncertainty—to consider how the briefest encounters might quietly shape who we become.

About the Exhibition

Ioana Aron is a visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice explores the layered relationship between text and image in our media-saturated world. Deeply influenced by years of international residencies, exhibitions, and cultural immersion across Europe and the Americas, her work reflects a nuanced investigation into memory, ritual, displacement, and the embodied experience of the female artist.

Through painting, video, performance, and editorial work, Aron builds an interconnected body of work that considers the body as both archive and antenna—a site where personal and collective narratives converge. Her ongoing project Dans Ma Rue exemplifies this approach, weaving themes of migration and transformation through urban space.

She is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of ETAJ Magazine, Romania’s first artist-run art publication, and the author of The Field. IL Y A, an artist book now part of the National Museum of Contemporary Art of Romania’s collection. Aron is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Visual Arts at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, where her research continues to investigate the intersections of language, image, and embodied knowledge
